HillsFinds is a small, free community directory of roadside stalls. This policy explains how we handle information when you browse or submit a stall.
We collect your contact name and email, optional phone number, stall name, town, address or location description, map coordinates, products, opening hours, payment options, optional website link and photos. We use these to review submissions, clarify details with you, prevent abuse and maintain useful listings. Required fields are needed to submit a stall; phone, website and photos are optional.
Approved stall details, location and photos are intended for public display. Your contact name, email and approval phone number are for review and are not included in the public listing. We would only publish contact details if you separately choose and authorise that. This form does not offer a public-contact option. Avoid putting private contact details in the stall description or photos.
Only submit a location and photos you have permission to share. Photos may contain faces, number plates or embedded location metadata; remove anything you do not want shared before uploading. Approved information may be copied or saved by other people. Photos are stored at web-accessible links; an unpublished photo could be viewed by someone who has its exact link.
Contact messages include a type, message and optional name and email. An email is required only if you request a reply. Messages are private and sent to the HillsFinds inbox using Resend; they are not published or stored in our listing database. Resend and our mailbox provider process and may retain messages and delivery records, potentially outside Australia. We use these details to respond and resolve your enquiry; email copies are retained while needed and deleted manually. Avoid sensitive personal information. New stall notification emails contain only the stall name, town, category and a sign-in link.
We use Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers to run the site, D1 for records and R2 for photos. Cloudflare also provides Turnstile and security services. These services may process information outside Australia. Authorised HillsFinds administrators can access submissions for review and management.
Address verification sends the entered address to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap, and page libraries load from unpkg. These providers receive normal connection information, such as your IP address. Directions open Google Maps when selected. “Near me” uses your browser's location permission to sort stalls on your device; map requests can reveal the area you view.
Turnstile processes browser and connection signals to help distinguish people from automated traffic. Cloudflare may use security cookies depending on the site's configuration. Our directory code does not add advertising or analytics cookies. Rate limiting uses a hashed network identifier and temporary request records; hosting providers may also keep technical logs. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy notice (opens a new tab) and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy (opens a new tab).
We use reasonable safeguards, including restricted administration, security checks and request limits. No online service can guarantee complete security. We keep submissions and related contact information while needed for review, listing management and resolving issues. Records and photos are not automatically deleted on a fixed schedule in this version; deletion is handled by the administrator. Backups, provider logs and cached copies may remain for a time after deletion.
Contact info@hillsfinds.org to ask what information we hold about you, correct a listing, request removal of your details or photos, or raise a privacy concern. Include the stall name and your request. We may need to check that you are authorised before making changes. We will explain any information we need to retain. We cannot remove copies saved independently by others.
We may update this policy as HillsFinds changes and will show the updated date here.
Free to list. Submit the details below and HillsFinds can review the listing before it appears on the map.
Tick each day the stall is normally open. Saturday and Sunday are included because many Hills stalls are weekend-only.
HillsFinds uses your contact details to review and manage your submission. Approved stall details, coordinates and photos may be public; your approval contact details stay out of the listing. Read our Privacy Policy.
